Developer Name: Polyphony Digital Inc.

Subsidiary Of: Sony Computer Entertainment

Founded: 1998

About: Creators of the second best-selling racing franchise in the world - Gran Turismo - surely have a lot to live up to. With each new instalment, Polyphony Digital push graphical and gameplay boundaries and standards, so with the run-up to each new release, everything has to be just right. That’s why its been well over 5 years since a home console got their hands on a new, full Gran Turismo game, but that’s also why the next instalment; Gran Turismo 5, is set to take the world for a spin like never before.

The Polyphony Digital studio, located in Japan, and its developers (while working for this company) have never created a game outside the Gran Turismo series, but just taking one look at one of these fine racing games and you can tell why; Polyphony Digital are masters of the genre and surely have no need to branch out at the moment.
